Features

Lots of cool functionality built into the FZ1000.  Some have even dubbed this as one of the greatest bridge cameras available on the market, especially for those operating on a budget.

All of the features make this camera incredibly versatile, "future" proof, and "fool" proof. Anyone can pick it up and start using it straight away without any prior camera or vlogging experience. From pro to newbie, this camera will surely satisfy.

Enough with the background. Let's dive into the nitty-gritty now and talk features.

Lens

The Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens was uniquely made for the Panazonic FZ1000. The attached zoom lens (which can be manually adjusted) comes with incredible versatility ranging from a wide 25mm to an impressive 400mm zoom.

The aperture range is between F2.8 and 4.0.  While the aperture does drop ever so slightly when you start to zoom, you'll hardly notice. The quality remains quite high.

Video

The main draw for vloggers considering the Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ1000 is the 4k recording capability.  For those of you who might not know what that means, 4k recording means you'll get record video at 4x the resolution of regular HD recording - unbeatable.

With 4k recording (3840 x 1260) you can record at 30 frames per second (fps).  You'll also enjoy the incredibly cinematic 24 fps when recording in regular HD (1920 x 1080).

For any interested, this vlogging camera allows you to out 8MP stills from your recording - another really cool bonus.

For vloggers on the move, your stabilisation concerns are put to rest with the FZ1000. Activate stablisation with a simple flick of a switch, and feel free to move around with the camera in hand.  You'll still get great quality film.

Below is a video recorded in 4k on the Panasonic FZ1000.

Battery

Complete with a lithium-ion battery, you'll be able to reach a full charge in up to 140 minutes.  The battery is removable and can be charged with the external charger.

While the battery life is strong, we still suggest packing an extra battery, or two, just for safe measure.

Storage

Make sure you get a 64gb UHS-3 card (says Panasonic) if you plan to take advantage of the 4k recording, which of course you should. This card will support the minimum write (and read) speed so you won't be sacrificing any quality in film.  We suggest carrying an extra storage card handy just in case you need the space.

Common Accessories

We are fans of the minimalist approach for vlogging.  Take as few things as possible so you can stay on the go.  However, there are a few items that you wouldn't be able to vlog without, especially if you're vlogging with the Panasonic FZ1000. Take a look at some commonly purchased accessories vloggers use with this camera.
